Landscape

This painting suggests fog in front of a forest with clear blue skies. It was developed from this original photo:

A Winter's Walk Abstraction

I began to further explore and develop the painting 'A Winter's Walk' from my previous post into a much more abstract composition:

I liked the energy suggested by the shapes and felt it reminded me of something just waiting to explode.

A Winter's Walk

This painting evolved into a very wintery scene. The colours and the shapes that developed suggested to me a forest on a cold, snowy day and the black shape in the centre a shadowy figure walking into the forest.

The painting was developed from this photo:

I developed and explored this image using a wide range of digital tools to create the final painting. Here are some of the developmental images:

Bike chain

I created these images from a simple photograph of a bike lying out in the leaves. I cropped it to focus on a particular area, full of interesting shapes and colours. I then used a range of painting and editing tools to explore the image:

Sunrise

I painted this sunrise today by transforming the photo of weeds outside a rundown door:

I first cropped the image in order to focus on some interesting shapes:

I then explored and developed the image in a range of ways:

I was not satisfied with the colour or the texture of the landscape to I continued to explore the image using colour filters and light effects. I also rotated the image 180°:

This is as far as I have developed the image so far:
