Prior to beginning the derive / drift part of my VAP 3 where I will collect a range on images from the surrounding landscape, I began looking at everyday images and trying to re-see them in a different way. For example, I took an very simple, unremarkable image of a child, cropped it so that only a portion of their hair could be seen and spent some time digitally developing and interrogating the image. I wanted to change and transform the mundane and everyday into something surprising and beautiful with striking visual impact.
